At The Animal Clinic our professional team of vets and nurses care passionately about animals and treat every patient as a sentient being. Every member of our team is hand selected for their compassion and ability to go above and beyond for our clients. They have the skills to provide a timely diagnosis and first-class veterinary treatment.
Margit joined the Animal Clinic in 2005. After graduating from the Veterinary University of Vienna in 1998 and gaining experience at a clinic in Austria, she was keen to broaden her horizon by working in the UK. She spent several years working in Walsall, Wellingborough and North-West London before deciding to find out what life was like South of the river (much better of course) and moved to Blackheath.
Margit is not only interested in providing the best care for cats and dogs, but also has a big heart for small furries and works closely with Greenwich Rabbit Rescue and Animal Samaritans.
She is an OV (Local Veterinary Inspector) which means that she is able to issue Pet passports and Export Certificates for your pet.
Mary qualified from Dublin in 1994. She has been in practice for several years in London but has also enjoyed working in Yorkshire and Ireland.
She has a particular interest in geriatric medicine, radiography and oncology however she enjoys all aspects of general practice. Mary works here part time and also at Blackheath Vets our other local clinic.
Nicki qualified in 2003 from the University of Liverpool. She previously worked in mixed practice in Northamptonshire and Rutland before moving to southeast London in 2013.
Nicki enjoys both medicine and surgery. She has a particular interest in geriatric medicine and acupuncture which she has been using in dogs and cats since 2008.
She has a young Labrador called Maddie and two senior cats, Rodney and Trigger. In her spare time Nicki teaches pet first aid courses or is out running around after her children and Maddie!
Louise joined Blackheath vets in September 2016. She is a registered and fully qualified veterinary nurse who enjoys going to the gym and dog walking in her spare time.
She has a gorgeous Ragdoll cat who is called Barry White (as he is all White in colour).
Louise is a dedicated and caring nurse who is passionate about animals and their care.
Alice joined us in May 2018. She is a fully qualified veterinary nurse and has worked in practice for nearly 8 years.
She previously worked in a veterinary hospital where she gained her Diploma in Canine Hydrotherapy and she has a keen interest in rehabilitation and is currently studying veterinary physiotherapy.
Alice has a soft spot for the geriatric patients and will be starting a golden oldies clinic for advice and support for your pets soon.
She lives with her two terriers and enjoys running, walking the dogs and socialising with friends.
Ellen has had previous experience volunteering at Celia Hammond Cat Rescue where she spent lots of time caring for the cats, which she thoroughly enjoyed.
In September 2016 Ellen officially became a Student Veterinary Nurse by starting her nursing course and attends college one day a week, as well as continuing to work at the clinic. Ellen is thoroughly enjoying studying nursing and is looking forward to qualifying in a couple of years. She loves animals and has a pet Labrador Retriever called Harley and a Dutch rabbit called Bunnykins. Ellen qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2019!
In her spare time she really enjoys the culinary delights of baking, walking her dog, watching films, going to concerts and spending lots of quality time with family and friends.
Riai joined us here at The Animal Clinic in May 2016. She has previously worked and studied in the Equine Industry. Upon leaving University, she accepted a placement working in a Veterinary Hospital in Maidstone, where she gained experience in an out of hours practice, dealing with hospitalised patients.
She accepted her position here as a Veterinary Care Assistant to gain further experience with Small Animals and expand on her knowledge and skills required for the industry.
She eventually hopes undertake further studying to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse
Kayleigh began as a veterinary care assistant in 2015. She then went on to work in an out of hours clinic where she could develop her skills with hospitalised and critical patients.
She started working here at the Animal Clinic in January 2017 so she could further her skills with small animals.
In her free time she can be found in the park with her two Jack Russell’s, pictured, or looking after her two cats. She also loves going to gigs and hanging out with her friends.
Guler studied veterinary medicine and had worked in various clinics and laboratories overseas before she moved to London. She has also achieved her postgraduate diploma in immunology from King’s College London.
Her love for animals go back to her childhood, previously she has owned budgies, finches, cats and a Kangal dog.
She hopes to become a pet owner again in the near future. Guler is outgoing, fun loving and always friendly.
Annemarie joined the clinic in August 2018 after previously working in a variety of customer based roles, but wanted to pursue her passion for working with animals.
Her love of animals goes back to her childhood where she had a variety of animals growing up including, budgies, rabbits, hamsters, fish, cats and dogs.
In Annemarie’s spare time, she can be found spending time with her little boy and 7 year old staffy cross. She also enjoys spending time with friends and being around family.
